La veleta más famosa de Sevilla es el Giraldillo, nombre popular que recibe la escultura que corona la torre de la Giralda. fue realizada entre 1566 y 1568, mide más de 3,5 metros y pesa 128 Kilos. Precisamente por la capacidad de girar según la dirección del viento hizo que se denominase a la figura como Giralda originalmente, llamándose Giraldillo cuando el nombre de Giralda pasó a hacer referencia a la famosa torre.
